Museum quality Cozzo Disi sulfur Crystals on matrix...

Museum-Quality Native Sulfur on Fluorescent Aragonite – Cozzo Disi Mine, Sicily, Italy Exceptional specimen of native sulfur on fluorescent aragonite from the historic Cozzo Disi Mine, Casteltermini, Agrigento, Sicily. A remarkable example of classic Sicilian mineralogy, featuring the striking contrast between the intense yellow sulfur and the aragonite matrix, which exhibits beautiful fluorescence under ultraviolet light. Cozzo Disi was one of the most important sulfur mines in Europe and is considered a legendary locality among mineral collectors. Mining operations ceased in 1988, and specimens from this historic deposit are now exclusively available through old collections and the secondary market.
