Natural fossil wood ball – rare petrification with warm

This exceptional sphere made of petrified wood presents itself with an impressive combination of reddish, caramel tones and creamy whites, which flow like organic growth rings across the polished surface. The vivid texture still clearly recalls the ancient wood grain, making the connection between mineral transformation and original plant material wonderfully visible. The warm red and ochre zones seem to glow from within, while lighter, almost milky portions create a gentle depth. Included structures and natural lines tell the story of a tree that over millions of years turned to stone—a process that makes every fossil wood sphere a genuine one-of-a-kind piece. With its harmonious coloring and the organic, flowing patterning, this sphere appears especially decorative and exudes a calm, earthly presence at the same time. As a rarer variant among fossil woods, it also possesses an attractive collector’s value and fits elegantly into any mineral collection. Note: The stand pictured is not included in the delivery, but can be purchased separately. Stone: Petrified Wood Sphere Weight: 5742.99 g Size: 150 mm Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
