Natural petrified wood slab from Arizona (USA) – 220...

This exceptional piece of petrified wood impresses with its imposing, flat, slab-like form and the clearly preserved natural wood structures. The finely discernible growth rings, grain patterns, and organic markings attest to the wood's original composition, which over millions of years was replaced by minerals and thus permanently petrified. The warm beige, cream, brown, and gold tones are interwoven with pronounced dark mineral inclusions, giving the specimen a fascinating, high-contrast appearance. Especially impressive is the combination of the natural, almost fossilized form and the carefully polished surface, through which the fine structures and color transitions are excellent showcased. Presented on a high-quality, handmade wooden stand, this petrified wood becomes a representative display piece and a special eye-catcher for any demanding mineral, fossil, or natural stone collection. Extraordinary Quartz Hand Polished Petrified Wood Weight: 15209,31g Size: 633x455x33mm Treatment: None Origin: USA - Arizona It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone : there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood : the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
