The splendid antique Bohemian garnet necklace is executed in the original tombak/gold doublé and, on the front side, the necklace has been gilded with about 15% gold. The necklace consists in the center of five larger flower- or rosette-shaped links, set with blood-red Bohemian garnets in antique rose-cut. Thereafter the chain transitions to star- or diamond-shaped links, also set with smaller garnet rosettes, leading to the garnet-set clasp. The elegant and magnificent necklace is bedecked with antique Bohemian garnets in the antique rose-cut, produced in various sizes. Length of the chain approx. 47 cm, maximum width approx. 2.5 cm. A very beautiful Bohemian goldsmith design from around 1860/80. The necklace comes from an estate and is in very nice, worn and well-kept condition. Antique jewelry pieces are often reworked, redesigned, or repaired to preserve enjoyment and extend their life. It is not unusual for older objects to show such traces of these kinds of work as well as signs of wear. The stated number of garnets is only an approximate value and does not claim completeness.
