A dainty hand-carved pendant of natural jadeite in the form of a lotus pod (蓮蓬), set with an 18K gold (Au750) bail. NGTC certifies the jadeite as Type A, meaning it is untreated: no bleaching, no polymer impregnation and no dyeing. The lotus pod is carved as a gently tapering form with a softly rounded, knotted stem at the top and a base that flares slightly outward. Fine flowing lines run down its length, and the base is carved with the rounded detailing of the seed head, where the lotus holds its seeds. The polish is smooth and glossy, so light moves softly over every curve. In Chinese tradition, the lotus pod and its many seeds are a cherished symbol of abundance and a thriving family, often linked with the blessing 連生貴子.
