Very Rare Front Proof (◊) NORWAY. Norges Bank. 5 Speciedaler, ND (1866-77). P-A48p1. Front Proof. PMG About Uncirculated 50. Printed on blue paper. An extremely rare type in any format, and our first offering of a 5 Speciedaler of this type in our lengthy auction history. Very few issued notes are known of this type; dated 1868, 1869, 1870, 1874, and 1875. According to Sæthre, all dates are extremely rare, with the 1870 and 1874 believed to be unique. Striking blue paper, sharply impressed, and very attractive. The coat of arms at the center represents the primary Norwegian industries: mining, fishing, farming, and shipping. Of the greatest rarity and an exceptional opportunity for the Scandinavian specialist. PMG Comments "Previously Mounted."
