A rectangular-cut emerald weighing approximately 0.70 ct is set in a gold frame decorated with milgrains. Around the green stone, an openwork, gothic-style foliage of gold-plated silver unfolds, engraved in relief and set with rose cut diamonds. An agraffe adorned with another, smaller emerald and three brilliant-cut diamonds makes the piece of jewellery wearable as a pendant. What is reminiscent of 19th century pieces of jewellery in terms of shape and choice of materials is a piece of jewellery that was probably not created until the end of the 20th century. In those years, antiques were all the rage; the styles of the supposedly good old days were in vogue. Rose cut diamonds are set in patinated silver, while the back and leaves are made of particularly high-carat gold. Only the modern diamonds betray the modern period of origin. This piece of jewellery came to us from Switzerland. The beautiful, elaborate chain adds to the rich impression.
