Old oil-lamp niche - Rajasthan - Stone - India - 19th - early 20th century

Old niche finely carved in a pinkish-colored stone typical of Rajasthan. These niches framed the entrance of havelis in pairs. They housed a terracotta bowl filled with oil in which a cotton wick rested. These oil lamps usually burned all night. The presented niche is in perfect condition and ready to illuminate your interior or your garden (frost-resistant stone). Antique dealer specializing in Asian arts, my positive rating is 100%.
