Vintage Osmia Supra Progress 194 F fountain pen, Germany, circa 1935–1939. An attractive and relatively uncommon pre-war Osmia fountain pen in black and gold marbled celluloid, fitted with an original 14-carat gold nib. The pen belongs to Osmia’s Progress series. Unlike conventional piston fillers, the Progress models use Osmia’s unusual Vacuumpumpenfüllung: a pump/diaphragm filling system introduced during the 1930s and based on a principle similar to the Parker Vacumatic system. The Supra Progress 194 is specifically documented with this type of filling mechanism. Details * Manufacturer: Osmia * Model: Supra Progress 194 F * Country of manufacture: Germany * Period: circa 1935–1939 * Body: black and gold marbled celluloid * Nib: 14K / 585 gold * Nib grade: F – Fine * Filling system: Osmia Progress vacuum/pump filling system * Approximate closed length: 10–10.5 cm Condition The fountain pen has been tested and is in working condition and writes properly. The celluloid remains visually attractive with a pronounced marbled pattern. The pen shows age-related signs of use including surface marks, patina and wear to the metal trim, consistent with its age. The photographs provide a detailed representation of the present condition and form an integral part of the description. A particularly interesting Osmia for collectors because of its unusual Progress filling mechanism, marbled celluloid body and 14K gold nib.
