Paar schwere Mid-Century / Brutalist...

An extraordinary and highly decorative set of two stylish candle holders in graduated sizes (37 cm and 27 cm), dating from the 1970s to 1980s, is for sale. The pieces impress with their solid construction in heavy cast metal, which gives them an extremely stable and secure stand with a total weight of almost 2 kg. The surface features an artistic, speckled antique finish with a beautiful dark patina, lending the items their characteristic rustic Brutalism character from the late phase of mid-century design. A special and rare detail of this era is the outer edge of the candle saucers, which is wrapped with a fine, completely intact wicker (rattan/willow) basket weave. This charming contrast between the cool, heavy metal and the warm, organic natural material makes the duo a true statement pair for modern as well as classic interiors. Measurements & Details: • Large holder: height approx. 37 cm • Small holder: height approx. 27 cm • Era: approx. 1970–1989 • Condition: Very well cared for, no breaks in the weave, beautiful patina of aging. Delivery includes no candles.
