Original lithography by Pablo Picasso, created in connection with Picasso's time in Vallauris in the south of France. Lower left, signed by Pablo Picasso with blue chalk crayon. About the work: The artist lived and worked in Vallauris in the south of France for many years and developed during this period numerous motifs for exhibitions and cultural events. This lithography belongs to the group of linocuts and lithographs that Picasso created from 1948 for exhibitions in Vallauris and their presentation. This exemplar refers to an exhibition at the Maison de la Pensée Française in Paris and thereby has an additional art-historical and cultural reference. The lithography was printed at Mourlot in Paris, one of the most important print workshops for Picasso's graphic oeuvre. Literature: Christoph Czwiklitzer, Pablo Picasso. Affiches 1923–1973, Catalogue Raisonné. Framing: The work was professionally and high-quality framed, mounted on linen and floating in a custom-made double, acid-free linen mat in a handmade black wooden frame with Plexiglas Optical HC. Frame size: approx. 87 x 67 cm. About the artist: Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is one of the most important artists of the 20th century and was a co-founder of Cubism. His extraordinarily versatile oeuvre encompasses painting, sculpture, ceramics, and print graphics and is characterized by continuous artistic renewal. During his Vallauris period, Picasso intensively engaged with ceramics and graphics and developed an increasingly direct, playful form language, often featuring animal motifs. Picasso's works are now in the world's most important museum collections. His signed original graphics and lithographs continue to be among the internationally sought works of the Classical Modern.
