This unusual work by Picasso is said to have been created as a wedding invitation. The original bears the signature ‘Picasso 15.6.62’. Its authenticity was reportedly confirmed by Maya Widmaier-Picasso during a sale at Sotheby’s in 2005. The work is also reproduced in the catalogue dedicated to Picasso’s works from 1960–1963, published by Alan Wofsy Fine Arts. Picasso lived on the outskirts of Cannes on the French Riviera, as did Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse. Their works shaped modern art. Carefully packaged with insurance and delivered against signature.
