Pair of Chinese square porcelain vases in Qianjiang Cai with poetic inscriptions, figures and landscapes General description: Refined pair of Chinese square porcelain vases decorated finely with the Qianjiang Cai technique The square shape features on each side bordered panels decorated with hand-painted figurative scenes in delicate pastel tones: sages, scholars and children immersed in natural landscapes, rendered with extraordinary expressiveness and literary taste (Wenren). On the sides there are poetic inscriptions in Chinese characters traced in black and red enamel, bearing traditional inscriptions such as "Written at Changjiang" (Jingdezhen) and marked with seals and dedications ("Lantang Jingzeng"). The shoulders of the vases are adorned with lion-head handles with a ring (Pushou) glazed in coral red.
