Pair of goblets with garlands of fruit, Neoclassical School, 20th Century

Descriptio Carved and polychromed marble. A pair of neoclassical-inspired ornamental cups, raised on prismatic pedestals and decorated with relief appliqués evoking vegetal garlands and classical architectural motifs. The cups feature an exuberant composition of fruits, flowers, and leaves, executed with remarkable detail, forming rich three-dimensional still lifes that crown each piece. The chromatic combination of marbles in ochre, cream, green, and white tones lends visual depth and a refined decorative effect, while the symmetry of the ensemble reinforces its monumental character. The carving demonstrates meticulous work in the treatment of the surfaces, alternating polished areas with elements of great volumetric richness. The overall design recalls the ornamental models disseminated by neoclassical taste and later reinterpreted in 19th- and 20th-century European decoration, where references to abundance, fertility, and prosperity are integrated into compositions of high aesthetic impact. The ensemble stands out for its sculptural presence, formal balance, and ability to articulate representative spaces with a distinctly decorative vocation.
