Pair of large walnut armchairs, furniture, 17th century

Descriptio Walnut wood. Dimensions: 110 cm x 70 cm x 66 cm. Pair of large, solidly framed armchairs with baluster-turned front legs and straight rear legs, joined by a sinuous X-shaped stretcher topped with a central knob, which reinforces both the stability and the visual dynamism of the set. The curved arms are suspended in a scroll on baluster-turned supports, creating an elegant interplay of curves and volumes. The high back and seat are upholstered in a red velvet fabric, providing a striking chromatic contrast against the warmth of the walnut. The carving demonstrates meticulous work in the turned elements and structural articulation, reflecting the noble character of 17th-century furniture. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed.
