Paper knife - Bronze/brass

Superb and important paper opener (letter opener) from the Art Nouveau era (Circa 1900), made in solid brass (brass alloy) of very fine craftsmanship, heavy and perfectly balanced. The handle is magnificently sculpted in high relief. It represents a feminine allegory (nymph) with long flowing hair that organically blends along the blade. The face emerges from a delicate naturalistic decor of stems and fuchsias bells, an iconic Belle Époque theme.
