PARIS COCKTAIL AND PARADISE — No. 13 — 1953 Paris Cocktail and Paradise. Monthly magazine, No. 13. Paris, “AS” Éditions, 1953. Quarto, paperback; color-illustrated cover; abundant black-and-white photographs: female nudes, glamour models, lingerie, cabaret and music hall performances; articles and short stories. A rare example of French erotic and glamour periodicals from the early 1950s. This issue combines nude and lingerie photography with light-hearted short stories and the world of Parisian cabarets. Notably featuring photographs of music-hall performances and dancers, including “La revue Voilà au Lido: Mlle Lucette,” as well as Roger Stefani and Mlle Céline. The editorial advertisement showcases a whole array of periodicals now sought after by collectors of curiosities: *Paris-Cocktail*, *Voici Paris*, *Paris-Plastique*, *Paris-Studio*, *Le Nu dans l'Art*, *Paris-Plaisirs*, *Paris-Esthétique*, etc. The back cover features a particularly dated advertisement for Bellard-C. Thilliez, “Rubber Hygiene Products,” as well as for the Reliefoto photographic process. Legal deposit date indicated: 3rd quarter of 1953. Condition: fairly significant signs of wear; cover is scuffed and soiled, spine and staples are fragile, small tears and marginal losses, creases, yellowed paper; some visible damage inside.
