A rare type for the likes of New Jersey owing to circumstances that preceded the issuance of any Value Back. This example is one of approximately 100 notes recorded on New Jersey for this short-lived type spawned after the expiration of the Aldrich-Vreeland legislation and one of only just three known for the issuing bank. Now the First National Bank of Paulsboro (Charter# 5981) is already a tough prospect especially for the first title which records 12 pieces including the three Value Backs. There this piece which features the signatures of Cashier Joseph M. Paul and President Benjamin G. Paul stands unique for both the type and denomination making it a real opportunity even before one considers that this note has not traded hands in a public context since 1982.
