The "Cushion" comes from a series of sculptures in different colors on the same theme and was published in collaboration with Artikel Editionen, Berlin. Peter Smith, born in 1941 in the United States, ranks among the most notable sculptors of his generation. Even at a young age, he and his family moved to southern Germany, where he discovered his passion for art, and in particular for sculpture. After training at the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Smith developed a unique style that blends traditional techniques with modern elements. His works, often made of ceramics, wood, or metal, reflect a deep engagement with the everyday, mundane things of life. Over the course of his career, Peter Smith has presented his works in numerous international exhibitions from Paris to New York. To this day, the 84-year-old lives and works in his self-styled "workshop" in southern Germany.
