PHOENICIAN STEATITE SCARABOID IN GOLD RING

Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A steatite scaraboid with a plain convex back and a flat underside engraved with a central scarab flanked by ankh signs and subsidiary hieroglyphs, all within an oval border. Mounted in a hallmarked 18K gold ring, the scaraboid revolves on a transverse pin between looped terminals bound with coiled wire.
