Ancient French Luxury Modular Hunting Pipe in Meerschaum and Stamped Silver with Case Lot specifications: * Item: Luxury modular hunting pipe (Gesteckpfeife) with original rigid case. * Era / Period: Mid-19th Century (circa 1840 - 1870 / July Monarchy - Second Empire). * Country of origin: France: Silver finishes certified in Paris * Materials: Natural Meerschaum (Meerschaum) foam, Blonde flaming horn, Cherry/Prunus wood, Solid silver (min fineness 800/1000). * Case dimensions: 20 x 9 x 5 cm * Conditions: good, with original patina / historically used, see photographs Extraordinary collection lot for connoisseurs of exceptional tobacco culture. It is a rare modular hunting pipe complete with its contemporary rigid case, custom-molded, lined internally with violet silk and ochre velvet, featuring an upper inner pocket with drawstring. The item stands out for the richness and rarity of its construction materials: 1. THE BOWL (IL FORNELLO): Crafted in the finest natural Meerschaum, with the upper section displaying a magnificent honeyed-amber hue over time. The lower “stovepipe” portion is in highly polished flaming blonde horn. 2. THE WINDCAP (IL PARAVENTO): Upper grille with palm-leaf and botanical motifs in a Biedermeier/Second Empire style, equipped with a hinged lid and an opening for the safety cord. 3. THE FRENCH SILVER HAMMERS (I PUNZONI DELL'ARGENTO FRANCESE) (Officers’ marks post-1838): - “Boar Head” stamp (Tête de Sanglier) on the flange: certifies solid silver (min 800/1000) stamped by the Paris Garanzia Office. - “Crab” stamp (Crabe) on the connecting ring: office mark for the departments. - “Recense” tax-crest flower-shaped stamp on the metal flange. 4. THE STEM (IL CANNELLO): Composed of 4 interchangeable threaded sections in ancient cherry wood, preserving its original glossy bark in rings. Conditions: The item presents in good original condition. The pipe shows real historical use traces, including the classic carbon crust inside the bowl and a light oxidation patina on the metal, elements that certify authenticity and period. No cracks or damage to the meerschaum, horn, or threading of the bits. The outer case shows small, normal signs of wear consistent with its age. Tracked shipping, Careful packaging.
