British Navy chronometer case with brass box, ca. 12 x 10 x 6 cm, watch case ca. Ø59 mm, ca. 127 g, silver, British military markings on the reverse, case, movement and dial signed Vacheron & Constantin, case number 278794, movement number 439618, Anker chronometer with Geneva stripes and fine regulation, original enamel dial with military markings and service number 9618 (fine hairline crack), steel hands, in working order, box with sticker: ‘Issued from H.M. Chronometer Depot Bradford-on-Avon’. This chronometer was used on HMS Snowdrop during the Second World War. Provenance: Conrad Knirim Collection
