Precious Pendant in Art Deco Forms With "Santa Maria" Aquamarine in

The sometimes bluish sea-green, then again clear blue colour of the aquamarine as well as its high clarity and brilliance led to the fact that this gemstone has always been associated with the sea. In fact, this also gave him his name, which is derived from the Latin "aqua marina","sea water". The aquamarine in the pendant here shows these qualities quite wonderfully. Its colour is intense and pure, an ideal medium blue. Its colour distribution is uniformly intense and evenly distributed, its clarity and brilliance striking. In addition to its intense colour, it has an impressive weight of 59.68 ct. Aquamarines of this colour and size were first found in the 1910s, in the Brazilian mine "Santa Maria", not far from the city of Itabira in Minas Gerais. Even if the reserves of this mine are exhausted today (some of the last stones were given to Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation) - their fame led to the fact that their name became an own colour designation for particularly good aquamarines. Medium blue stones, just such stones as the aquamarine in this pendant, are called "Santa Maria" aquamarine until today. The aquamarine found its way to us unmounted. We have therefore had a new setting made for the stone, based on an antique Art Deco pattern. The piece of jewellery corresponds to the sense of form of the period between the great wars. Its angular shape continues the geometric elegance of the scissor cut. Cool luminous white platinum shapes the decorative setting, which is lined with millegrains and set with diamonds. We have used historic material here, to match the aquamarine. The diamonds and platinum are also reused materials for sustainability. The pendant comes with an in-house certificate as well as an external gemological report.
