Splendid example of bi-terminated, floating quartz, associated with muscovite, from Arbola Glacier, in Val Formazza, Piedmont. The specimen features a large quartz crystal with the characteristic bi-terminated morphology, with natural surfaces and a beautiful luster. The crystal is particularly interesting for its floating condition, with the crystal terminations clearly evident and without a massive matrix to obscure its morphology. On the surface of the quartz there are numerous aggregates of muscovite, characterized by thin silvery lamellae and metallic reflections, creating a pleasant contrast with the light hue and transparency of the quartz. A specimen of particular interest for collectors of Alpine minerals, both for the crystal morphology and for the prestigious provenance from Val Formazza.
