R. Serra - Mujer con sombrero XL

Woman with a Hat Series: Runway Description Woman with a Hat captures a female figure in motion, advancing with natural ease against an open landscape. The large white hat becomes one of the central elements of the composition and partially hides the face, reinforcing the sense of mystery and anonymity. The dress, constructed from whites, pinks, and strokes of red, gains movement with every step. The intense blue of the sky serves as a clean, bright background, while the greens of the landscape add depth and connect the figure with the surroundings. The loose, gestural brushwork conveys the feeling of a fleeting moment: the woman walks, the dress moves, and the scene seems to continue beyond the frame. Contemporary vision Within the Runway series, Woman with a Hat proposes the idea that the runway can exist anywhere. The beach, the landscape, and everyday space are transformed into a setting for fashion. The face partially hidden makes the protagonist less a portrait of an individual and more a universal figure of elegance, movement, and freedom. The body, the dress, and the hat construct a recognizable silhouette without needing to fully define its identity. Thus, the work combines fashion, landscape, and movement, using a palette of great intensity and an spontaneous brushstroke that moves away from photographic representation to approach a more emotional interpretation. • Artist: R. Serra is a visual artist based in Spain whose practice centers on pictorial research and the mechanisms of image construction. Her training in Fine Arts, with a specialization in painting, along with later studies in graphic design, shape a language that places painting in dialogue with the aesthetics and visual logics of digital culture. Her work investigates memory as a process of editing and reconstruction, where lived and imagined memories converge to generate images that question the stability of representation. Through painting, she explores the tensions between presence and absence, experience and fiction, proposing scenes suspended between the intimate and the universal. Over the last decade she has developed an exhibition trajectory that includes group shows in national and international galleries, consolidating her presence in the context of contemporary art.
