Raak Amsterdam - Wall lamp - Mid-Century Hand-Blown - Glass - 1960s

RAAK Amsterdam Mid-Century Wall Lamp with Smoked Glass Globe – ca. 1960s In excellent condition – No reserve. A beautiful and highly decorative RAAK Amsterdam wall lamp, featuring a large hand-blown smoked grey glass globe combined with a brass-coloured wall mount and cylindrical inner fitting. The minimalist yet sculptural design is typical of Dutch Mid-Century lighting. The transparent smoked glass creates a particularly atmospheric effect when illuminated, with warm light and beautiful reflections throughout the globe. RAAK Amsterdam, founded in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn, became one of the Netherlands' best-known lighting manufacturers. During the 1960s, RAAK became particularly known for its experimental use of glass, innovative forms and high-quality materials. Original RAAK lighting from this period is highly appreciated by collectors of Dutch and Mid-Century Modern design.
