RAPHAËL MONNET - PURPLE RAIN - XXL

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm, and movement. He approaches the canvas as an experimental space. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross paths, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe. His process does not rely on a pre-painted image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization. Based in the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and the superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence from afar and reveal, when you approach, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between the pigments. Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of matter, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.
