Rare Hermann Aron Meter No. 138496 Continuous Current Ampere-hour meter for 105 Volt DC Supply, reference No. 367, 17" high, 75" wide, depth 7" ** A vintage metal cased integrating electrical measuring instrument manufactured by Aron for measuring accumulated current consumption in a 105 volt continuous current (direct current) system The instrument is fitted with a glass viewing window through which the precision electromechanical mechanism can be observed, including multiple pointer dials calibrated in Ampere Hours. Unlike an ordinary ammeter, which indicates the instantaneous flow of current, this meter integrates current over time to record the total quantity of electricity delivered or consumed. Such instruments were used for monitoring battery charging and discharge cycles, industrial DC systems and other electrical installations where accurate measurement of accumulated current was required This example represents the precision electromechanical measurement technology of the early electrical age, before electronic instrumentation replaced mechanical integrating meters ** From the David Read Collection
