Rarissimo Théodore Haviland

Rare monumental Limoges porcelain service / KPM Germany (77 pieces) - Late 19th / Early 20th Century Splendid and exceptionally rich antique dining service, composed of 76 pieces, endowed with timeless elegance and a fascinating history that blends the excellence of French Limoges porcelain with German manufacturing craftsmanship. Each piece is made of exquisite white porcelain finely relief-carved with delicate radial grooves. The edges are gracefully shaped, scalloped, and beautifully finished with a pure gold profile. The decoration features a magnificent multicolored band in perfect Art Nouveau / Neoclassical style, characterized by sinuous blue-azure scrolls, gold details, and romantic floral garlands in pink and fuchsia tones. The service testifies to the historic collaborations between the great European manufactories of the early 20th century. The prestigious centerpiece pieces bear the raw-pressed famous French mark T&H (Théodore Haviland, Limoges), guaranteeing the paternity and superb quality of the original ceramic bodies. The plates bear the green under-glass KPM Germany (Krister Porzellan-Manufaktur) mark from the period 1904-1927, applied during the era’s additions and decorations carried out in Germany to keep this imposing set always complete and impeccable. Unlike common antique services, this set boasts the extraordinary and rare presence of as many as 38 dinner plates, offering unmatched flexibility for grand entertaining. The serving pieces are monumental and include pairs of tureens, pairs of salt cellars with their rare porcelain spoons still intact, a stand and a magnificent gradient of six coordinating oval trays. The service is generally in excellent condition for its era, with glossy decorations and gold well preserved. For complete accuracy, a small chip is noted on the rim of the vegetable dish and a few inevitable signs of time or micro-cracking (hairline) on a very few pieces, entirely normal and tolerated in porcelain over a century old. An additional round serving plate (broken) is given as a study piece for the marks and is not counted among the 76 intact pieces. A ceramic work of art of the highest level, perfect both as a precious investment for collectors and for setting dream-table arrangements capable of enchanting guests.
