From an 19th-century edition of Rembrandt's works. Signed on the left "RL f". Rembrandt's mother, Cornelia, was portrayed by her son several times between 1628 and 1631, when, through a long series of psychological studies of the faces of the characters, the artist sought to represent affections and moods, both in his graphic and painting production, often using his own face as a model. per l'or.
