A.C. Gilbert Erector No. A "The Locomotive" construction set. Professionally restored set with restored wooden box case as well. The interior lid features a color lithographed scene of the Gilbert 5200 locomotive with rails and mountain background, which is original and well preserved, with only a few light edge tears. The fitted tray contains spoked drive wheels, connecting rods, flywheels, gears, couplers, brackets, as well as various black and silver boiler engine parts, and more. Includes the original instruction manual which reads "No. A - The Set that builds the Locomotive and 12 other models". Instructions show overall wear with detached covers, tears, etc. The set has not been collated for completeness and is sold with what is shown. Case measures approximately 23 x 11 x 6 inches. Also includes a smaller reproduction copy of the instruction manual from Periscope Film LLC. From the remarkable lifetime Collection of Michael Kent. Estimate $600 - $900
