A characteristic screen print by the prominent British land art artist Richard Long from 1996. On the back, signed and numbered by hand. Signature and numbering are visible. From a limited edition of only 44 pieces About the work: The work is based on Richard Long's “A Cloudless Walk,” a hike undertaken in France in 1995. The text on the work describes the project: “An eastward walk of 121 miles in 3½ days from the mouth of the Loire to the first cloud – France 1995.” Long thus walked over 121 miles eastward, from the mouth of the Loire to the moment he encountered the first cloud. The walk itself becomes the artwork; the screen print documents this fleeting experience in a deliberately reduced visual form. The white typography on the intense blue background immediately evokes a cloudless sky. It is precisely this minimalist design that is typical of Long's conceptual works, in which landscape, distance, time, movement, and language are intertwined. Dimensions: approx. 50 x 40 cm About the artist: Richard Long (born 1945 in Bristol) is among the international leading figures of Land Art. Since the 1960s, he has made walking itself a central element of his art. He documents his walks through landscapes around the world with photographs, maps, and text works. Additionally, his well-known sculptures and installations are created from natural materials such as stone, mud, and wood. Long represented Britain multiple times at the Venice Biennale and received the Turner Prize in 1989. His works are in numerous major international museums and private collections.
