A rare catalog from the posthumous sale of the Roger Marx collection; Marx was a critic and art historian who played a particularly significant role in championing modern artists at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Auction conducted by F. Lair-Dubreuil and Henri Baudoin, with Durand-Ruel and J. & G. Bernheim-Jeune serving as experts. Illustrated catalog with separate reproductions. Handwritten hammer prices listed next to many lots, an interesting feature for the history of the art market.
