A Rolex Lady-Datejust wristwatch, reference 69173, serial U424929, circa 1997 to 1998, offered new old stock with Rolex hang tags attached and protective stickers on the caseback and clasp. The champagne dial carries applied indices under the cyclops date window, within a fluted bezel, XRF tested at 75% gold, consistent with 18 karat, on a two-tone steel and gold Oyster case with Jubilee bracelet. Accompanied by the original green Rolex box, punched warranty certificate marked Tivol and matching serial U424929, dial card, red chronometer seal, and Datejust, Oyster, and care booklets. Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, as marked on the dial. A full-set example! Rolex introduced the Datejust in 1945 as the first self-winding, waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date on the dial, an innovation crowned in 1953 by the Cyclops magnifying lens fitted over the aperture. The Jubilee bracelet, designed for that debut, takes its name from the firm's fortieth anniversary. Rolex serial numbers beginning with the letter "U" correspond to production around 1997 to 1998.
