Elegant intaglio crafted in natural pink quartz from Madagascar, worked in a vertical shape with a flat base, faceted body, and pointed termination. The sample weighs 1107 grams and presents a delicate light pink hue, softly and naturally distributed throughout the entire volume. The surface has been meticulously polished and polished, allowing light to penetrate the stone and highlight the internal structure of the quartz. Inside are visible milky veils, thin natural fractures, more translucent areas, and slight color variations that give depth to the material. In some points, light produces more intense reflections and small light effects, while other areas appear more compact and opalescent. The geometric workmanship particularly enhances these characteristics. The longitudinal surfaces create different planes of reflection, while the upper part is shaped with a faceted termination that gives the object a slender and harmonious silhouette. Pink quartz is a macrocrystalline variety of quartz, composed mainly of silicon dioxide, SiO₂. Its pink coloration is linked to the presence of microscopic inclusions and structural defects within the crystal lattice. Madagascar is one of the best-known localities for producing pink quartz of good quality, often valued for its delicate hues and good translucence. The small inclusions, internal lines, and slight surface variations are natural characteristics of the material and make each piece unique. A decorative specimen with great presence, suitable both for a mineralogical collection and as an display piece in contemporary environments, studios, libraries, or Wunderkammer.
