SADDLE and OFFICER EQUIPMENT MODEL 1874-1884: Saddle dimensions: 55 x 45 cm Box dimensions: 60 x 55 x 70 cm Total weight: 29 kg, saddle 9 kg, strap: 2 kg, box: 18 kg Era: France, 3rd Republic, late 19th or early 20th century (WWI). Lot of French cavalry for an officer: complete saddle, bridle, transport case. Materials owned by Commander GUILLOT. Fawn leather saddle model 1874 modified 1884: - saddle with its straps and under-ventral support - pair of irons, oats bag in canvas hide and leather, sabre belt - stirrups and stirrup leathers Saddle in good condition, leather a bit dry with a few discreet repairs, some small defects on the seat (stains). NB: the arçon paddings under the saddle are missing, some seams worn. Bridle in leather model 1874, complete with bit and reins, in good condition, leather a bit dry. NB: Together with saddle, needs oiling. Transport case in green army-colour painted wood, marked "Cdt A.L.P. GUILLOT", in good condition.
