Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal mastery. For forty years he worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and electroplating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always guarded. What for decades had been “only” an exemplary technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures.
