Trial of April 27, 1767. “Brief to be consulted and consultation on behalf of Monsieur and Madame NOGUÈS and Monsieur PAYEN de BOISNEUF, heirs of the widow Madame BIDONNE. ,” concerning the annulment of the marriage of Mr. de CASTÉRA, Brigadier in the King’s armies, to the wealthy and elderly Madame de BIDONNE, following a questionable marriage contract drawn up in Santo Domingo. From the printing house of Herissant, Printer to the King’s Cabinet, 1767; 48 pages, in-4°: “Monsieur de Castéra arrived in Saint-Domingue in 1762” “In Saint-Domingue, the same rules regarding marriages are followed as in France. The French colonies have certain regulations pertaining to matters specific to them, primarily concerning Black people.
