Sculpture, Bergamotto in argento vermeil - 5 cm - Silver

Splendid and rare lot of 5 naturalistic micro-sculptures depicting the Bergamot of Reggio Calabria (The Green Gold of Calabria) made in sterling silver 925 coated with a layer of vermeil gold through vermeil processing. The objects bear the signature of the prestigious Milanese manufactory G. Vavassori and carry the official hallmark 95 MI. They weigh about 20 g each (total weight 101 g). No dents or restorations, the gilding shows no significant wear. Ordered from G. Valvassori by the goldsmith FRISINA. Ideal for collectors of author silverware from the twentieth century.
