Sculpture, Fragments de sculptures - 35 cm - Polychrome wood

Fragments of polychrome wooden religious sculptures – 17th century Set of three ancient fragments of carved wooden religious sculptures with traces of polychromy, including a substantial draped angel fragment and two angel heads, one of which emerges from a decorative background of stylized foliage. These elements very likely come from an old church decor or a Baroque altarpiece. The sculpture, the moving hair, and the traces of polychromy allow dating to the 17th century, possibly early 18th century. Probable origin: Southern Europe, possibly Italy or the Iberian Peninsula. Fragmentary condition, significant wear and gaps in polychromy, old signs of wood-boring insects visible, consistent with the age and nature of these elements. Height: 35 cm - 21 cm -12 cm The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. They allow one to assess their condition and characteristics. Please examine them carefully before any engagement. The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery. Happy bidding
