These striking geological structures formed approximately 30 million years ago during the Oligocene epoch, in the Fontainebleau region near Paris, France. They were created through a process in which mineral-rich water infused with silica flowed through fine sand, gradually solidifying into smooth, swirling shapes with an almost abstract, sculptural quality. Highly prized by collectors, designers, and art enthusiasts alike, gogottes are celebrated for their unique, organic aesthetics that evoke modernist and surrealist art.
