The oil painting on canvas depicts a devotional image of the Virgin with the Child Jesus, executed in the second half of the 20th century according to the canon and the centuries-old tradition of the School of Cusco (Peru). The Virgin is represented with the typical cone-shaped robe richly adorned with floral motifs and gilded brocades executed with artisanal finesse. At the sides, figures of angels hold theatre drapes in red-purple, while the base of the composition rests on the anthropomorphic crescent moon and a winged cherub. Focus on the Frame: A note of great significance is the contemporaneous wooden frame of excellent visual impact and craftsmanship, which completes the work and enhances its sacredness. The structure features a finish in antique gold leaf with elegant contrasting silver patinas.
