Selenite Freeform - Height: 7 cm - Width: 8 cm- 300 g - (1)

Gypsum var. Selenite (Geminated Crystals on Matrix) - Niccioleta Mine, Tuscany Exceptional and evocative collectible specimen of Gypsum, Selenite variety, originating from the renowned historic Niccioleta Mine (Massa Marittima, Grosseto, Tuscany). This specimen stands out for the extraordinary complexity and richness of its crystallization. The upper part shows a dense aggregate of crystal-clear, vitreous, and highly geometric crystals, characterized by the typical parallel growth striations and clear lance-shaped twinning. The element of exceptional aesthetic and collecting interest is the stratified structure of the dark matrix: the mineral developed by creating a spectacular sandwich-like section, where the transparent crystals appear inlaid and visible also laterally through the natural fractures of the host rock. A structured, solid piece of the highest aesthetic quality, ideal for highlighting systematic mineralogy display cases and exhibitions. • Minerals present: Gypsum (Selenite variety) • Locality: Niccioleta Mine, Massa Marittima, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy • Quality: Transparent, gemmed crystals on intact matrix excavated in historic times.
