SENZA RISERVA abyssal fish Taxidermy full body mount...

Lactoria Cornuta Lactoria cornuta, commonly known as the horned boxfish, is a marine fish belonging to the Ostraciidae family. The body has a quadrilateral cross-section, narrower towards the tail. Four bony protuberances project from the forehead and the ventral side. The body, as with other species in the family, is surrounded by a perforated bony exoskeleton around the mouth, anus, and fins. The tail is long and delta-shaped, but rarely it is fully broadened. The coloration is yellow-green, speckled with blue and brown. The beak is brown, as are the eyes. The liver of these fish is poisonous, as it secretes a substance called tetrodotoxin, a neurotoxin that inhibits respiratory function, quickly leading to death. Lactoria Diaphana Large tetrodotiform fish belonging to the Ostraciidae family. It features a body with a distinctive trunk-pyramidal shape, typical of the genus; the entire body is completely covered by a bony carapace, formed by fused hexagonal scales, from which the mouth, eyes, caudal peduncle, and fins protrude; the mouth is small and located at the top of a rigid, conical, elongated snout; the teeth are fused together into four plates. A very particular lot: two distinct specimens of Lactoria provided without a pedestal. A necessary clarification. The final image in our photographic gallery is obtained with the help of AI software. The aim is purely aesthetic but also exemplary: it shows the real object inside an artificially generated setting. The goal is to demonstrate how precious the items in the auction are and how well they fit in different, highly refined environments. Thank you for your attention. Happy bidding.
