Scultura in Serpentino Naturale del Perù con Inclusions di Pirite — Scultura in Serpentino Naturale del Perù con Inclusions di Pirite – Cobra Intagliato a Mano This sculpture depicts an upright cobra, carved entirely from a block of natural serpentine from Peru, a stone that stands out for its olive-yellow tones crossed by irregular dark veining. The handcrafted workmanship highlights the folds of the hood, the tension of the coiled body, and the vigilant expression of the snake, creating a dynamic piece rich in presence. The surface is adorned with inclusions of crystalline pyrite, visible as irregular metallic reflections. These natural inserts, typical of some Peruvian deposits, add brightness and character, creating a fascinating contrast with the warm hue of the serpentine. The geometric scales engraved at the base imitate the texture of the skin, while the eyes in dark stone give a touch of intense realism. In symbolic tradition, the cobra represents protection, transformation, and intuitive strength. Serpentine, ancient and always valued, is associated with earth energy and grounding. Pyrite, with its metallic appearance, adds an element of structure and solidity. The result is a decorative object with a powerful and natural aesthetic, ideal for collectors of carved minerals, for lovers of zoomorphic sculptures, and for those seeking a piece capable of telling the spontaneous beauty of the stone.
