Set van 2 obsidiaan beelden - 1,2kg - Sculpture - Aztec...

A set of two finely hand-carved Mexican sculptures of polished obsidian, executed as stylized seated figures with tall ceremonial headdresses. The sculptures are crafted in a modern interpretation of pre-Columbian/Aztec iconography. Notable are the strongly geometric facial features, deeply incised decorations, and the highly glossy polished surfaces. One sculpture is rendered in deep black obsidian; the second shows clear bronze-gold tinted shades that match gold sheen obsidian. Both are carved from solid stone and together form a decorative and beautifully cohesive pair. Origin: Mexico Style: Pre-Columbian / Aztec-inspired Dating: ca. 1970–2000 Material: black obsidian and gold-gloss obsidian Quantity: 2 sculptures Largest dimensions: 20.5 × 5.5 × 4.5 cm Total weight: 1185 g Condition: very good condition, with light natural surface and wear marks appropriate to the material and age.
