SKE - Mega Man – Urban Reboot - 2020s

Features: Artist: SKE Title: Mega Man – Urban Reboot 02/10 Technique: art print on premium Hahnemühle paper Format: A2 portrait - 59.4 × 42 cm Limited edition: only 10 copies Each copy is hand-signed and numbered by the artist Certificate of authenticity included Publisher: Atelier Montmartre, Paris Work sold unframed Carefully protected and secure shipping With Mega Man – Urban Reboot, SKE reinterprets the iconic Mega Man universe, also known as Rockman in Japan, in a composition that blends Japanese video game culture, street art, and contemporary graphic design. At the center of the piece, Mega Man, recognizable by his blue armor and his famous Mega Buster, escapes the pixelated aesthetics of his origins to take his place in a much rougher setting. Gestural painting, drips, graffiti, typographic collages, barcodes and graphic traces build an environment deliberately close to street art and urban posters. The composition also retains several references to Japan: red sun disk, traditional graphical motifs, Japanese characters, and a Daruma-inspired representation. These elements echo Capcom’s origins and the history of Mega Man, a character who appeared in the late 1980s and has since become a true icon of video games. SKE here plays on the contrast between nostalgia for retro gaming, Japanese imagery and a deliberately worn, painted, and overlaid visual treatment. The blue flat areas characteristic of the character are set against touches of red, black, off-white, and gray, giving the whole a more mature and contemporary aesthetic. Mega Man – Urban Reboot is aimed at Mega Man / Rockman collectors, Capcom and Japanese video game enthusiasts, as well as fans of pop culture, street art and contemporary art. A deliberately very short edition around one of the great historical figures of Japanese video games, revisited through SKE’s graphic and urban universe. - FRAMING TIPS Your artwork is shipped rolled and protected in a tube. On receipt, carefully remove it and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing. ISO formats (A3, A2, A1…) are very easy to frame with standard frames available in hardware or décor stores. Personally, I use Leroy Merlin aluminum frames: simple, elegant and economical, they showcase the works perfectly. - ARTIST BIO: SKE is a self-taught, versatile French artist who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring much of his prolific body of work. He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art. After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen notably. He was the winner of the first Urban Master contest prize (2023), then named Discovery of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as the “Artist of the Month” by the Opulence gallery in October, and he has also been featured in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition. His works have been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, solidifying his place on the contemporary art scene. Simultaneously, SKE is also making a mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the past two years, enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors. Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture play define a style now indispensable. SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value. Listed & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work sits in a prestigious lineage. His line shows the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they revisit classics, notheshes displacing Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws. POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and Scrooge McDuck’s symbolic greed. The influence of gaming, comics and superheroes is omnipresent: from Nintendo and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), through Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami. LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits alongside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: sneakers (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin) appear. He also integrates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski. This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to any interior. Instagram artist SKE: ske_shakeyourart
