Smalandshyttan - Josef Schott - Vase - Nordic Brutalist...

Superb and captivating thick art crystal modernist vase, dyed mass, combining beautiful vibrant nuances of cobalt blue and turquoise blue. Designed by the famous designer Josef Schott (1915-2009) for the Swedish glassworks Smålandshyttan, this piece fully embodies the Nordic brutalist design movement. Its highly sculptural stretched-cube silhouette evokes the raw strength of carved ice blocks, masterfully catching light thanks to its sides adorned with abstract geometric relief motifs. A centerpiece of exceptional density (1 kg for only 17.5 cm in height), emblematic of the aesthetic power of mid-century Scandinavian design. This vase will ideally find its place in a contemporary or modernist interior, where its intense blue and sculptural relief will add a remarkable artistic touch. On a white marble console, a minimalist sideboard, or in a Scandinavian living space with light tones, it will become a true centerpiece. It will also elegantly fit into a Haussmann-style apartment, creating a refined contrast between the classic charm of the architecture and the modernity of Swedish design. The 5th photo will help you envision a contemporary interior.
