HIGHLIGHTS • 2004 Smart Roadster in striking bright yellow • Turbocharged three-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission • German vehicle with TÜV inspection valid through July 2028 HISTORY / OVERVIEW Introduced in 2003 during the DaimlerChrysler era, the Smart Roadster (Type 452) was conceived as a light, minimalist sports car designed to bring pure driving pleasure back to daily travel. Designed under the leadership of Michael Mauer, it features a compact mid-engine arrangement (rear-mounted), rear-wheel drive, and a lightweight platform that echoes classic British sports car philosophy while incorporating modern safety and technology. This particular 2004 example is a German vehicle that has been maintained for regular road use. Finished in vibrant yellow, it features a removable two-piece roof system that allows the vehicle to be easily converted into an open-top roadster. BODYWORK / PAINT: The bodywork is reported to be in very good overall condition and free from rust. The vehicle has not been involved in accidents, and no structural repairs have been performed. The bright yellow paint retains strong gloss with only light signs of use consistent with age and mileage, showing no major dents, deep scratches, or significant paint damage. Body panels align properly, window glass remains clear, and exterior trim and rubber seals are well-preserved. Both removable hardtop sections function as intended and store inside the vehicle. The chassis and underbody remain clean and well-preserved without visible corrosion. INTERIOR: clean and well-preserved driver-focused interior. The seats display light wear appropriate for the vehicle's age while remaining structurally sound and comfortable. Upholstery, floor carpets, and interior door panels present well throughout. The futuristic dashboard assembly remains complete with all instruments functioning properly. MECHANICS: Mechanically, the vehicle is in strong, fully operational condition. The original turbocharged three-cylinder engine starts readily whether hot or cold, idling smoothly and delivering direct power output. The six-speed semi-automatic gearbox shifts as intended. Steering and suspension deliver responsive handling, and the braking system functions effectively. The car passed its German TÜV inspection on 14 July 2026. Minor noted inspection items—including a right parking light bulb, a reversing light issue, and minor engine oil dampness—were addressed following the test, resulting in a valid TÜV certificate running until July 2028. DOCUMENTS: The sale includes: • German registration documents • Official TÜV inspection certificate valid until July 2028 • Two keys • Owner's manual and maintenance documentation The vehicle is located in Bavaria, Germany. Collection in person is preferred; however, the seller is available to assist with international collection and shipping arrangements.
