Songzi Guanyin with Child Dresden, Porzellansammlung P. O. 8612 Porcelain, Dehua H. 38.5 cm; W. 15.5 cm Qing Dynasty, circa 1700 On a high rock pedestal, in front of which flower chalices open and two dragons coil, sits the Bodhisattva Guanyin with diadem and veil-like headdress. The right leg is bent, and the foot rests on the left knee. A little boy, as a celestial attribution for a virtuous couple, sits on Guanyin’s lap, on the right his Life-Water vase and on the left a book and a scroll with the holy sutras as his attributes.
